This game at first bugged me with the artstyle but I got used to it, I still don't love it but it shows alot of detail in the environment.Ok the good things of the game is that there is huge amounts of gore this time but it does get tiresome late game . Also a great part of the game the orginal never had was there is a new game plus. You have a awesome darkling in the story mode who helps you though the whole game except the last levels. As this game has the brilliant subplot of Jackie thinking he is insane since he is in a insane asylum, just play the game to find out if Jackie is insane or not.The bad parts of the games must be that the game is very short. Then another bad point is that they got rid of the creeping darkness ability (for those who don't know what is the creeping darkness it is a stealth kill ability in the first game) so once they removed it they is very little stealth in this except little parts where you control the main darkling in singleplayer(which is only twice in the game). Possible the worst thing in the game is the multiplayer it is alot better from the original's multiplayer but you get to play 4 characters who have different abilities(good concept) but there is only 4 or so missions on multiplayer so there is very little playability to them

I never played the first game. It just never caught my interest. So when this one came out, I figured it was time to take a peek. I'm glad I did. The game plays well on the PS3, not so well on the PC but well enough. The characters are interesting and the darkling is funny. The asylum in betweens are enough to make you doubt reality. However, the ending twist is about as obvious as the fact that the Darkness is evil. It is set up for a sequel so be ready to be annoyed.
What I really enjoyed was the relic sidequest. The stories behind the relics are imaginative and cool enough for me to focus on gathering them. As I said, lore is fun.
