I loved demon souls it was super challenging and I would recommend it to any hardcore rpg player. I figured this game would be the same it was same graphics look even like the same level designs but honestly I just couldn't take it the game isn't inviting enough to suck you in and get you motivated to play that's the way I felt.

So as you may have heard this game is tough and can be down right brutal. Yet it is also addictive and very rewarding. It forces you to think and be tactical. You will die a lot, but you come back with the knowledge of what not to do and try something else. So at its heart Dark Souls is an action RPG. You get to choose a class and what your character will look like. Each class has it own unique starting stats and equipment, and abilities. As you make your way through the games you will collect souls that act as expirience points and as money. But there are plenty of opportunities stock up on souls allowing you to some what level up at your own pace. Thing is each time you improve an attribute you gain a level and the amount of souls needed for the next levels goes up, wich adds strategy to even how you build up your character. Plus unlike some games gaining a few levels and some gear will not make you superman. You get overconfident you will get creamed. The story is elusive yet compelling and the ability to find and leave messages with fellow players if your online adds to the expirience. I'm still less than a quarter of the way through this game and I am really enjoying it. Don't let Dark Souls rep scare you away. It deffinately worth your time.

I'll admit this is a great game if you have the patience and like to do extreme puzzle solving and RPG. However, the game loses its appeal for me when I spend more time dying and trying to retrieve what I lost than anything else...
