First boss: one shots you, over and over and over. You can't both attack and dodge, you can't block, you can't out maneuver it. I spent 3 hours on the first boss (not the time you're supposed to escape, but after you walk through the white light and HAVE to fight him) Maybe it's because I started the game as a caster... and it won't let me actually cast spells?
The controls are wonky as heck. Why can't I change them? Why can't I navigate the menu's with the control stick? Why are the most common buttons used in the worst place? Why is there no mini-map in, from what I've read, is a MASSIVE game? The fight MIGHT be manageable if I could put they buttons in a semi-useful place.
I play a game for enjoyment, not endless frustration and headaches.

Yes this is the greatest RPG of all time. I love this game I cant get enough. But it is hard and I mean hard. This is deadly hollows and creature around every corner.there is no way to not dye in this game but thats what makes it soo fun. Get this game u won't regret it!
Dark souls is one of the hardest games I have ever played. With that being said be ready to die A LOT! I like this game for that reason. This is not one of those games that you can get to a point where the enemy's and bosses are push overs. Be ready to save a lot and do some thinking about what you upgrade and when. the enemy get stronger and stronger the farther you get in the game and so do the bosses.
If you like games that challenge you then this is a good one for you. If you like games that are at some point a breeze to play then look else where this game just keeps getting harder the longer you play. Even if you go back to some of the first kills of the game.
To me it seems like the enemy upgrade along with you so as you level up so do they. Like the other reviews said this is not one of those games you can just cost though you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times and think use strategy or pay the price.
