at first, when you start the game it's quite difficult but if you invest the time to level your character up and grind/find new items it becomes quite simple. of course, the real toughies are the later on boss fights. the atmosphere and gameplay overall is fantastic, the challenge and learning curve is great. highly recommended

I never played demon souls so i can't compare it to its original game but this game is awesome. Its probably the most difficult game I've played on xbox. You're able to upgrade your weapons will all sorts of enchants and can also upgrade your gear for better defensive stats. I died so many times throughout my 2 playthroughs but for some reason, unlike any other game I've died countless times in, I kept coming back for more. I personally wanted this game for the pvp aspect and it was fun at lower levels but once you get past Soul Level 100, it slows down drastically. This game has huge server issues, very difficult to join up with friends and co-op levels. Compared to Xbox...PS3's online play blows xbox out of the water. Their servers are great compared to Xbox (my friend has it on PS3). That is my biggest complaint...other than some online play that should be fixed in the future...this game should be very appealing to people who enjoy actual challenges in video games. I'd give it a 10 if it weren't for online play so its about a 8.5.
