I enjoyed what part of the game I played, which was the beginning, up to the point where you can level up.
My first impressions were "This is easier than I thought!" Then was killed by a metal ball rolling down some stairs, ran into a very large, fat demon, and killed by skeletons that wouldn't stop hitting me.
My impatience got the best of me, and I stopped playing, but this game is well worth the time if you have the patience.
One thing I would advise when getting into Dark Souls (if you haven't played Demon's Souls) is to not be intimidatted by all the talk about it being difficult...Yes, it's hard but contains very few purely frusterating moments and with strategy and leveling up your character via grinding I fould all the challanges in this game to be surmountable. It has one of the best item / leveling systems of any game I've ever played (slowly via baby steps your character will become more powerfull), the smartest enemies / AI in any game ever made, great graphics and eerie music in certain places, and it's utterly addictive in every way. You should definatley check out one of the wiki pages regarding this game as it will help you choose what stats to put points in and help you when you get stuck...but general advice from me would be to place points in sta and vit (hps and stamina help all class builds), kindle all bonfires by using humanity (they stay kindled throughout the game and new game+ ), and generally take your time..block enemies' attacks b/c button mashing dosen't work in dark souls, and also if your are trying to do the game w/o the online walkthroughs remember to listen to the npcs that you meet and pay attention to the cut scenes b/c they expain where you have to go to next.. allrighty have a good one and enjoy dark souls..definately worth a rent
