Amazing

I love this game... No matter how many times I say under my breath how much I hate it. I turn it off, shut it down and find myself still thinking about a better way to approach an area. I'm still playing it.
The hate I feel for it is more of a momentary understanding that I am not getting the message the world is trying to convey. Death is education in Dark Souls. This is an amazing thing, in a time in the gaming industry when let ourselves die to restart a checkpoint. In Dark Souls you don't want to die. You fear it.
The unfortunate thing for me is that I probably will not be able to finish it. I've have spent an incredibly large amount of time in single areas, without much progression through the game. I do work fulltime and have kids, so I don't play Xbox as much as some and I am by no means a hard core gamer.
And although I do enjoy a challenge (I finished Halo: Reach on Legendary alone, Crysis 2 on Supersoldier) there are other games I want to play. I feel like if I don't move on soon I'll be 70 and arthritic before I ever finish Dark Souls.
As I've said... I love this game. It reminds of the old days on Mario when you were in the 8th level and you lost your last life and had to start all over again. It's a punishing game, but the punishment breeds reward through education. And I have never felt so good after winning a boss fight than I have in this game.
Highlyl recommended and sad to leave it behind.
