I know im reviewing this game but the comparisons will help. The other game Dance Central is so easy to pick up and do its amazing, its easy to learn and you actually follow the movements not hit little waves or do little steps. Dont even rent this.

The songs themselves aren't that bad. They are techno/trance songs not main stream songs, which my kids like. Its something different. Personally I get tired of hearing the same songs all the time. I'm tired of hearing Lady GaGa.
If you want tutorials to teach you the dance before each song, this is not the game for you, go ahead and buy Dance Central. Want alittle challenge? Go with this game.

The first good thing I can think of is the character design and graphics. The main character is pretty and the outfits are cute. You can tell the designers put a lot of effort into the graphics, so kudos to them. I also really liked the fact that you can save and replay your performances. It's really neat to see yourself onscreen. The scoring can be confusing at times, but once you learn how to read the dance analysis it's easy to figure out which part of the routine needs improvement. The multiplayer feature is fun, and two people can dance at the same time, one of the things Dance Central lacks. So, Dance Masters has many good points that should be mentioned.
Dance Masters does need some work before it can beat Dance Central, though. Specifically, the controls could be must better. It is confusing to see the thing you want to select on the left hand side, but have to move your hand to the right to select it. There are many tracks on Dance Masters, but I have only found a few songs that I like. But, really, the game was made by the same company as Dance Dance Revolution, so what did you expect? Lastly, the Xbox Live feature was disappointing. I couldn't find any matches, which renders it practically useless.
Overall, Dance Masters is a fun game once you get past the tricky controls and strange music, not to mention figure out a routine. However, once you do make a high score on a challenging dance, it is a very satisfying feeling. So, if you enjoy trying out new things, including music and dance moves, or if you're an up-and-coming dancer looking for a challenge, this is the game for you. If you want manufactured pop music with easy routines to improve your self esteem, go with Dance Central.

In the comparisons to Dance Central, The biggest thing I found was the mainstream artists draw the DC crowd. In Dance Masters, Many of the Parapara routines are Eurobeat songs, and Almost all the other songs I played in a DDR game as some point in time.
Fans of DDR will enjoy the familiar songs with new routines, but the lack of any true song DLC right now is disappointing.
I've also seen and heard many complaints that the motions aren't tracked well, but I've never had a problem having my moves tracked.

The game doesnt disappoint, it may not be a precise as Dance Central but thats what makes this game stand out. Dance Central at times is too accurate at times and requires more time devoted to it. DanceMasters a fun jump in game anyone can play and at the same time provides more then a deep enough challenge for gamers who are looking for a new game to master.

Also, the music choices didn't seem very good. The characters reminded me of watching a DOA game.
If you want a full body tracking, good dance game. Try Dance Central.

Pretty much useless for folks who care about the music.
Not worth buying, not really worth renting.
