Let me first say that I actually had high hopes for Dance Factory. The thought of being able to dance to your own music by just putting in a CD was mind-blowing...at first. When I got the game, everything in it was like a half-baked version of DDR. If you play DDR, then you are probably used to the Left-Down-Up-Right layout of the arrow cursors. Dance Factory switches the up and down arrows which makes the game extremely more difficult for those who play DDR, and I am guessing the ones who rent/buy this game do. The characters that come from the disc that you load are so generic and lifeless looking that you could assume the art came from a 5-year old. The graphics are very underwhelming that it looks like a game from the launch of the PS2. Technical issues are here too. The game will sometimes not read your CD properly so when you finish making a dance for your 7-minute song, it'll tell you AT THE END it failed to read the disc properly. Sometimes during one of your preloaded songs you just rip directly from the disc will just glitch out to all heck and make weird, this is the sound that your computer makes when it is connecting to AOL, sounds. If it weren't for the ability to rip your own music and dance to it, I would give this piece of excrement a 1. Luckily, it's a good catch. If you haven't played DDR and want to start, don't start here. Anywhere but here. This game is an insult to DDR activists and rythmn-based games alike.

If you're looking for a game that's anywhere close to the DDR dancing experience, don't bother with this one. Although the concept is great -- dance to all of your own songs -- the developers forget one key aspect: a game should be fun to play.

Maybe if you have never played a DDR game before, you might be able to get into this game. But I couldn't.
