Really Bad

Ok so my experience after I went to the mail box yesterday goes like this. I stick the game in and the opening movie starts up and already I start to think, " This game looks kinda poo poo."

From what I can tell Damnation is a hybrid of Prince of Persia and a Steaming pile of cow dung. It seemed like the programers had been locked in a time capsul for the last couple years. Another reviewer said they would rather have dusted off the old N64 and played GoldenEye. I could not agree more.

The guns are just terrible. The sniper rifle was the only gun I liked and that was only becuase I could pick guys off and never have to experience the terrible gun fights. Maybe I couldnt figure it out but from what I saw there is no melee at all. you can punch but it doesnt really hurt them.

The whole acrobatic system is just bad.

The levels are really long. The developers thought putting in a futuristic motorcycle would be cool. they were wrong. I mean I dont even thing the bikes have a break. All it was was a mini game to distract you from how back the actual game is.

After I beat the first level which is the length of 2 or 3 normal game levels, I got up and went on GameFAQs to tell everyone there how bad the game is. I couldnt even watch the cut scene.

Vampire raign is the only other game that I just completly hated. This is not as bad as VR but its very close.

Bad

Good Premise for a Game but...

I had high hopes for Damnation but after playing for just under 5 minutes, I discovered that this game did indeed suck. The graphics aren't that great and the targeting system is impossible (you have to hold down the left trigger just to draw you gun. Doesn't work well when you get the drop on enemies). The weapons were horrible: the machine gun sprays bullets everywhere but your enemy and the shotgun could not fire any slower and forget hitting an enemy more than a few feet away. The developers really missed a golden opportunity making this game. The story is very original but the game just falls flat.

i didnt give it a 1, because you can still play it but...

its becoming a sad convention that these alternate history timeline games are unpolished, and dare i say it, unfinished. damnation is hardly the exception to this dismal trend. with dull graphics, and lackluster gun mechanics keep it from being worth a whole lot. not to mention your squad AI's are quite literally cannon fodder.

this game just needed a lot more love from it's development team than it got
