Hey I only paid about $5 for it on here when it was on sale around Christmas....and it was worth it. It entertained me quite well. I read the book, and if you are familiar with it you will probably get some enjoyment out of the game.
It was INCREDIBLY hard though...and I'm smart. I'm not really talking about hard as in the puzzles were beyond my intelligence. I'm saying that some of them were hard because the picture on the dial you had to turn was so small, or the letters were small, or the picture puzzle you put together was not very clear. They could've been improved on a lot! I hate cheating on games and with this one I cheated--a lot--and I hated that. The puzzles are one thing, but figuring out where to go next and what order to do things in sometimes stumped me.
The controls weren't great. I never felt I was moving around smoothly....felt really choppy. Sometimes the camera angles were bad.
Overall I think it's worth what gamefly is selling it for now though...I mean it's not a GREAT game, but it's entertaining and kept me thinking. After so many terrible reviews I was a little scared to buy it, but the way I thought of it was that a movie rental in a store is $5.....Well I paid that to own the game so I didn't lose too much if it were truly incredibly bad.
This might not make sense to some people, but I wouldn't waste my rental with this game....but I would spend $5 to own it. I like the games I rent from Gamefly to be really good ones that I probably wouldn't go out and buy because of the price......hey---buying games isn't cheap(usually), I think that's why most of us are in gamefly to begin with.

I'm not yet finished with this game ,but so far I think it's one of the best games I've ever played. If you liked the book then you would definately like playing the game and getting into the action. Some of the codes on the game are also hard, so be sure to take notes if you have to. If you don't like games that feature finding clues and what-not then don't rent this game, but if you do, then definately rent it.
There is bad, there is worse and then... There is The DaVinci Code for PS2.
I rented this after reading all the below-average reviews on the net & sure enough.... they were more than right. In fact, I think most of the sites that reviewed this were rather kind. From the start I was quite curious as to the way the fighting mechanics of the game would play out; little did I realize it would be a take from a PaRappa the Rappa school of movement- that's right folks, you have to press buttons according to what's displayed on the screen....I think I'd rather watch ice melt than to say more... enough said. You can love the book (like I did), or sorta-like the movie (I sorta liked it), but I promise you my first born goat that you will DETEST THIS GAME!
