Being a big fan of Devil May Cry I was hoping this game would be just as good as the rest. I was not disappointed. The game play was smooth, story was easy to understand and Dante was a smart talking, sarcastic guy like always. Though there were a few glitches in game play and once and a while the cam view was bad it still held to be a good game. Nothing is prefect after all. This game held the same feel as the rest and I am proud to have played it and soon own it.
Every review I have read or seen seems to be either really good or bad. I've noticed that the people who dont like the game only base it off of the new character design. The new character design is a whole lot better than the old one! The old Dante was funny but nothing in that game was serious and people just bought it for the hack and slash mechanics.
I did love the DMC series back in the day but the old Dante never grew as a character! He was always the same from the begging to the end and that made the game feel as if it had no progression on the characters or on the story line! I will always love the old Dante but he was in need of a reboot.
Then I started DMC I noticed that it keeps SOME of the cheesy humor (which helps lighten the story) but it takes the DMC franchise down a more serious path. The new Dante comes off as a Rebellious teen who doesnt care about anything, so at first I thought all of the reviews were right about this game but the more I played this game the more I loved his character! He grows up in this game and becomes a caring character that you cant help but cheer for.
I recommend buying this if you're into a intriguing story and a fast paced game!
The combat system rocks, as it always has with the DMC franchise. Chaining combos is faster and more intuitive than ever. Every weapon has a purpose, and by the time I was done playing, I had learned to incorporate a crazy number of different moves into my combos.
The story here is really impressive. I loved the past DMC games, but the writing, voice acting, and motion capture here are on a whole other level. They bring the world of limbo and the struggle against demons to new, visceral, emotional depths.
Make sure you get to the last level! Just when you think the game is over, there is one last, unbelievably awesome twist and an equally killer boss battle. You won't want to miss it.
