I was weary of the game but now that i have played the game their was no reason for it. Full disclosure though - I only had time to play through roughly the first half of the campaign but i was impressed.
The game has fantastic visuals and style. The gameplay is excellent. The combo system makes me want to keep replaying checkpoints and bonus rooms over and over again to improve my score.
I found the story to be the most relateable in the series; Debt as enslavement really hits home. Virgil is a good counterpoint to Dante - I hope that he will be playable in the future. The characters have personality - even some of the bosses even memorable.
The first time i saw the level deformations as it turned into Limbo i was just awestruck. Wow!
However the language makes this definitely a M-rated game. The F-bomb and other adult language is thrown around a lot. It is a bit of a shame that a more people will not be able to enjoy this simply because alternative Dialog is not an option. I think that younger players would also love the fast-paced button-pushing gameplay combo flow.
Lastly playing began to hurt my hands after a while of playing. But i am an old man of 40 so doing most things begins to hurt after a while.
To conclude DMC is swell. Just thinking about it makes me wish i were playing it right now!
I loved this game, the action, the story, the graphics (Very Cool!!!) but the freaking "Accobatics" that this dude has to do, when they have to combined them all are just "too much" and there is no way to make it easier!! I got to about half the game, really enjoying it until I got to a part that I just could not pass thru!! Though I tried "several dozen times" over the course of a couple of days, but eventually I just had to give up!! and it's sad as I would have liked to finish the story.
normally a reboot of something makes it not live up to the original, but this game honestly was nearly as good as the first or the third devil may cry games were. the story was good and I enjoyed this story a little more than the others. I like cut scenes what can I say. the weapons were neat as they are in each game what was even better was the seamless transition between weapons. The only real disappointment I had was i thought i had picked hard mode (nephilim mode) and i must say I was expecting more out of some of the bosses. I usually die a lot on Devil may cry final bosses, this one I didn't die nor did I take a lot of damage
