Good story line. But not much game play. It's short 20 levels some taking only minutes to beat. And then replying them with the weapon upgrades and on different difficulties was too repetitive and boring for me.
This is a curious game... there's nothing fundamentally bad about the game. The presentation is first rate, the gameplay is smooth. However... it just seems strangely dull.
Maybe I just don't care what happens to Dante, but there are lots of games I've enjoyed where I didn't care about the character. Ninja Theory's previous game, the incredibly underrated Enslaved, despite not having any "real world" characters (not that DmC is that real world, but you know what I mean...), was just way more enthralling, and I played that to a finish in a matter of a few days. With this... after two weeks I'm barely half way through, and don't really feel like trawling to the end (only the lack of any other releases have stopped me sending it back already).
Maybe it's because all the time I'm playing it, I'm thinking about the imminent God of War game, and I just know that's gonna be better in every way. So, I guess it's a reasonable filler, but ultimately its an instantly forgettable game.
