I've played all the DMC and although this one took the series in another direction, the gameplay was still solid, involving many fun components and variations, the enemies were creative and fun to fight.
Graphics are great, really vivid and atypical. I like the approach they took visually.
The music did little for me. Just loud and kind of obnoxious.
Same for the story/characters. The developers skewed a little young for this one, essentially making the main character a too-cool punk. I don't even think most 17-year olds would like their characterization choices, but what do I know?
Of all the convoluted nonsense that predates this game you can be assured scenes for fans sake.
DMC reboot feels good, plays well and has a few funny spots. Who cares about the story though, the monsters are awesome, the bosses are even better and as a fan I played through on hardest first play through and it felt smooth.
You level up your weapons, buy items, very similar to every other action game (Ninja Gaiden) and finding collectables for more unlocks makes it even more fun.
If you like action games like God of War, the other Devil May Cry games, this is going to fit like a glove.
