Of all the convoluted nonsense that predates this game you can be assured scenes for fans sake.
DMC reboot feels good, plays well and has a few funny spots. Who cares about the story though, the monsters are awesome, the bosses are even better and as a fan I played through on hardest first play through and it felt smooth.
You level up your weapons, buy items, very similar to every other action game (Ninja Gaiden) and finding collectables for more unlocks makes it even more fun.
If you like action games like God of War, the other Devil May Cry games, this is going to fit like a glove.
If you wanted depth of character and story, no. Not entirely included, but its core gameplay is very fun so we can give it a
I'm not gonna lie when I first herd about this game I was upset about all the changes they made. From Dante's Black Hair Emo look to this game looking like a prequel. As I was playing this game I kinda realized that it's not a prequel but yet a simply reboot of the franchise. As I felt Ninja Theory did a great job and taking it in another direction. For one this game has a lot more platforming than the previous Devil May Cry games, I personally didn't mind it even thought it caught me off guard but the controls for the jumping and the mechanics and powers for the platforming is pretty good for that matter. I also did enjoy all the additional weapons Dante was provided with mainly because in previous Devil May Cry games you get so many weapons you don't really use them all and plus on top of that, you have to equip the weapon your using. This game all the weapons can be used anytime you want and I like that because once you get used to the game play and everything it's very easy to pull off a Stylish combo.
Things I didn't like about the game.
I'm a huge fan of boss battles in Devil May Cry, and I kinda felt the boss battles in this game was lacking a bit. Although It's nowhere near as bad as Devil May Cry 2 boss battles.
Dante's Ambition to want to save the world all of a sudden. I kinda like how they made out Dante as someone who has powers but doesn't really use them to save the world. When he's introduced he just comes across as this selfish guy who likes to party all day & night. and then all of a sudden he's found and is forced to fight his way out of limbo. He then meets Virgil who's his brother and then Virgil sends him on this mission and then all of a sudden it seems like Dante cares and wants to fight for Mankind. I felt they could've done that a lot smoother and made Dante's motivation a bit more touching and sympathetic for the audience.
There's no Bloody Palace, I felt combat in this game is the best ever in the series, I just wish they had
