TL;DR VERSION: The game is fair. No more, no less.
NON-SPOILING PLOT:
When I got Crysis 3, I was already aware that it was not going to be the best thing ever. I had not however been told of it's poor FPS and how normal it was. The plot follows Prophet having some vision thing that tells him the Ceph are back- but not the regular, cool ceph! The ALPHA CEPH! But wait, there's more! He's going solely on this vision that this thing exists. Oh yeah, and for some reason it has to end the world somehow.
GAMEPLAY:
It's carbon-copied of Crysis 2. The guns are the same, the tactics are the same, but they did manage to add the one weapon that can't seem to die already; the bow. Let me take a few sentences to explain why the bow needs to die: The bow does not use bullets. The bow uses sticks that want to be bullets but aren't. Oh yeah, it also shoots sticks that want to be grenades and molotovs and tazers. Why not get a grenade launcher, tazer, and use that super-strength to throw those fire-bottles? I'm sorry, but the bow is so overused in pop culture and it's so inefficient it hurts. Even Prophet voices his dislike of it!
The rant is over, I'll continue. The combat is lackluster at best. It's entertaining, sure, but there's nothing keeping me immersed. I guess the graphics are pretty good, but they aren't as good as advertised. The storyline is weak and doesn't leave me wanting more.
RENT/BUY:
Rent, for sure. Nothing here worth buying. It's just a very normal and boring game. The FPS fluctuates, the bad guys are annoying, the weapons are the same, the story is boring, but it's not too terrible. It's just fair.
