Crysis 2 for PlayStation 3 Reviews by Gamers

The single player mode is where this game shines, if you can keep up with the storyline, more power to ya. Kinda confusing, but I could not play Crysis 1, for the storyline or background info. Although i had it on a PC that wasn't powerful enough to run the intro screen. Anyway the game play is fantastic in Crysis 2 and great graphics. Online seems to be sorta cloak oriented, it was hard for me to have alot fun with it. (I'm more of a if I see ya I try to shoot ya before you shoot me kinda player) Cloak is fun to play with in the story mode though. Enjoyed the weapons, but there should of been many more to choose from. Overall i give it an 8 out of 10, would of made nine if Online play was more shooter oriented.

I must admit at first i was not impressed , but that changed very quickly...excellent graphics and great action... And the weapons kept me going, empty one pick up another... my fav was the hand carried 50 cal, oh yeah splatter away.

Really, I would give it about 8.5. One of the most beautiful games I've played. A decent shooter that gives you a good variety of ways to kill. It's fun, challenging enough. But the flaws kick in. Not being able to reload can make things difficult enough, but sometimes the enemy won't die when shot, and shot, and shot. The online is alright. Not COD, but different. It's a nice change of pace, but the lag is pretty annoying. It's a game of primarily camping, which I don't like. Sniping is easier which causes problems, and the issue of not automatically reloading is a problem. It's fun to level up and tryout diff "Perks" but it gets old quick. If you want a different pace from black ops then it's worth the rent, but it's primarily about the game experience.

This game is great. Beautiful graphics, good story, great upgrade mechanics. I love how you can modify guns and abilities on the fly to adapt to certain situations. Multiplayer needs work but overall, a great game.

So just to make it more clear, I will not have anything to do with Crysis 3 unless it meets at least the more prominent of these things. No recharge delay. Better armor implementation: armor will soak up a rediculous amount of energy and you are forced to use it when you are trapped, making it hard to escape the trap you cant sprint out of. Armor should mitigate damage at the cost of recharge speed instead. Better sprint implementation: Problem number 2 would be solved completely if the old system of sprinting was reinstituted, making players be able to sprint but enhancing the sprint greatly by having a dedicated power button, but also implementing number two would be nice. Getting rid of the delay when picking up enemies and throwing them and objects: you didnt grab that enemy in the first place unless you planned at throwing him at another enemy, HARD. This problem could also be solved simply by making a dedicated power button. Traditional level design and a DECENT story, though thats probably impossible because the damage to the story is already done unless years pass, and locales are changed. Crytek find another pub lisher if EA is the cause of these problems. Have enough time to Beta test and get rid of EA as a pub lisher if they dont care so that there wont be so many glitches and we can come back to the Crysis we all know and love. This game was a fun shooter, but your suit really took a back seat compared to what it should have taken and it had an annoying amount of AI glitches, and for some reason underbarrel grenade launchers suck bad, while C4 and rockets are fine. Although the explosive range of many of those weapon types are simply way too small. Multiple different stealth kill animations would be nice. I actually did like the left stick implementation for power, but it would be very nice to have a dedicated power button.

So the bottom line is that this was a call of duty clone, with small changes made with the suit powers. Tradition was scrapped.

Overall great game. Story was just average but game play was good. Multiplayer was good as well except horrible servers with constant lag bring this game down a couple notch.

I was extremely surprised with the presentation of the game, from the graphics to the mechanics, and even the control scheme. The game is BEAUTIFUL. Amazing lighting. Best water I've seen since Uncharted. I know it's just water but, man, it's beautiful water. I can definitely see how this new release has attained great ratings overall from top magazines and websites/blogs. The multi-player is quite fun, and I have to add - better than black ops in terms of entertainment. The maps are intricate and extremely detailed, you can tell they put in alot of time with the maps - there are only a handful but they're large, not to mention the fact that you can use every inch of it by jumping anywhere and everywhere using power jumps. You all play with Nanosuits, which let you do some pretty crazy things and opens up what seems like a whole new type of FPS. You have an [energy] bar which let's you choose exactly how you want to play by consuming the energy, so you could jump from rooftop to rooftop shooting at people below, go invisible and sneak up on people for stealth-kills (stealth adds a whole new element for fps's), or increase your armor and watch the bullets bounce off you. Or you could power sprint all over the map, haha. You can quickly swap in and out of upgrades for your gun and suit, and the controls are simple and easy to figure out. The story itself is also very engrossing, and I would recommended at least playing through the first mission to become familiar with the mechanics of your suit - if you're trying the game just for the multi-player. Overall, the game is a success, they shot and they scored. Definitely worth a try.

nothing new and frustrating.your supposed to stealth but you kill someone while stealthed and every body starts shooting at you .very repetitive ..they have vehiciels but you rarely use them ..could have been great just not

This game is fun to play and with surround or especially with my great headphones the enemy and background noises are creepy scary. I'm also enjoying the story and that's unusual for an FPS. Enjoying more than Killzone 3!

Crysis 2 is a game you must experience to believe. I take my time with games. This game changed that for me, no i didn't beat it day 1. I like pacing my games to have something to look forward to the next night. Crysis 2 made me want to stay up until 2 am. Enough with the praise though. The story revolves around the suit and the character you play as. Not having knowledge about the first game other then what you find out as the story progresses. You're humanitys last hope against the alien invasion yada yada yada. You and the suit make your way through 19 listed levels. The character utilizes the suit to fight back against the alien technology. The story unfolds with breath taking graphics, tight controls, super human abilities, beautiful destruction and tons of actions. Crysis 2 is amazing, I never felt bored playing through the campaign. It has to be one of the most satisfying campaigns I've ever played. Now the multiplayer, I didn't have major connection issues. This is my first game on playstation network that i haven't compared with xbox live. I felt right at home running and gunning. There's killcams and customizable equipment similar to the cod series. However you can't prone but this game featues the slide, invisibility cloak, armor and the super cool punch to the ground. I on the other hand rented this game, I'm putting this in my game collection. Give it a shot, sorry if my review is blah but hopefully this gives you a understanding of a gamer who appreciates what Crytek has accomplished.

Crysis was a PC game that many console players might not have played much less heard about. SO many might seem skeptical about sequel game when a person might not have ever heard of a first game. So shove those fears away and grab Crysis 2 or you will be missing out on a great gaming experience. The singleplayer in this is amazing, graphics and gunplay make it fun and interesting. The options you have to either sneak or go guns blazing lets you chose exactly how you want to play. The AI is kind of crazy at times but nothing you cant overlook since the gameplay more than makes up for it. However, the multiplayer does have setbacks that keep it from making a great online experience. Online has plenty of unlocks and dog tags to acquire but the lag and technical problems make you just disgusted with the online. If EA can fix these small problems and make everyone on a level playing field then maybe this game get a 10/10. Rent the game and play it first since they do not charge for online and if it is your kind of thing then this game is a most definite buy for any gamer.

When Crysis 2 was first announced, I was excited. However, soon after that I found out that Crytek was releasing it on consoles..which I wasn't excited for. The first Crysis was a revolutionary PC game, bringing most PC's at the time to their knees, and I think a lot of people were expecting this game to do the same. However I would can say this with 100% certainty, that this game is the best looking game out on consoles right now. Even surpassing Killzone 3.

Story - 8/10
This is the only lacking part of the game, unfortunately I think Crytek got a bit lazy and gave us a silent main character (works well for Half-Life, not this game). Now the first half of this game is pretty average. Its not until you get about half-way done with the game when it really starts to pick up. Large-scale human vs alien battles, buildings collapsing all around you. It almost plays like a movie.

Gameplay - 10/10
Very, very fun gameplay. Like they said, you have dozens of ways of approaching missions in this game, ranging from stealthy take-downs to to going balls-out Rambo on them. The nano-catalyst system is pretty cool as well, allowing you to switch up your powers (sorta).

Graphics - 10/10
Like I said before, these are the best looking graphics on the consoles right now. Truly beautiful, even if most of the game takes place in a partially destroyed New York, lol.

Multiplayer - 9/10
If you're looking for an alternative to Call of Duty or Halo, then this is your game. I've played the multiplayer for several hours, and I'm still having fun with it. Nothing is really overpowered, and the game made camper's lives very, VERY hard. While it is a fun multiplayer experience, it is not for everyone.

I didnt like this game cause its cheap online cause everybody just clokes all the time

I got this game through gamefly today and had a ton of fun playing the Campain! However when I wanted to take a break and play a nice relaxing multiplayer match that wasn't the case. The multiplayer is extremly unbalanced! Every one uses clockes and Snipes it really Hurts the overall Multiplayer. I also should note that on the Ps3 its a little choppy because Crytek didn't take the time toport and use the cell.
