After playing the first Crysis, I knew I had to pick this up. The in-depth story certainly made me want to come back. For those who haven't played the original, It does a decent job of catching you up. But, as with any sequel, I would recommend playing the first one before taking this on.
It for sure is a nice change of scenary compared to other FPS such as COD or Battlefield. Switching between the armor button and stealth button makes things a whole lot interesting. It also gives you a choice between going guns blazin' OR sneaking past everyone. The sneaking part in my opinion can cheapen the game though as you can literally just run through the 70% of the game without killing anyone. But, to each his own I suppose.
As far as the story goes I really enjoyed it. The second half of the game really picked up for me. Wasn't what I expected, but for sure sets up for the third game. (which I look forward to playing when my GameQ sends it)
Graphics/enviroment- 8/10 This game looks great, and the devs did a fantastic job making New York look like a war zone. Crumbling buildings falling around you makes for an intense feeling
Sound/music- 6/10 Nothing incredibly special but gets the job done. Would of gotten a lower grade if not for the voice acting. Like the 1st game, the voice acting is well done and believable.
Gameplay- 8/10 The enemy AI really impressed me once again. Compared to other FPS's it is one of the game's biggest Pro's. I was a little disappointed in the different guns you can pick up. There are a lot of kinds you run into, but pretty much all feel the same. Overall fun to kill things thanks to the suit's features.
Story- 8.5/10 Engrossing and makes you want to pick up the third game.
Replay value- 5/10 Well, Let's face it. This is a FPS. Other than fighting enemies in different tactics, there isn't anything different when you replay. A few cool achievements to go for, but thats about it
Overall- 7/10 Great but not Legendary.
