In some ways this game is better than final fantasy 7. Such as this game has voiceovers, better graphics then final fantasy 7 and an ingenious way to use limit brakes and summons. The key to the fun in this game is to get use to the controller scheme. Getting the guide with the game will help big time
The game starts off cool enough, with an amazing cutscene, but that's one of the few things this game does right. The only other thing Crisis Core has going for it is the story, and that's only if your a die hard Final fantasy 7 fan already. There are plenty of things wrong with this game.
The most glaring problem is the complete lack of depth in the combat system. It basically consists of "press x, now press it again, one more time, good job! The fights over!". And as you clap your hands together excitedly over accomplishing the equivalent of a 2 piece jig saw puzzle it will probably dawn on you that this game is tremendously over-simplified.
With absolutely no depth to the game, this was hardly worth the rental. If you absolutely must get every bit of story out of the FF7 universe you will be happy to know all you have to do is continually press x and maybe watch some TV and wait for some story to crop up.
The title says it all, wow. This game has to be in my top 10 favorite games of ALL TIME. This game is truly amazing for both final fantasy players and for people that have never played the series. This is a prequel to the Playstation 1 classic Final Fantasy VII (7). Final Fantasy VII is a "off track" Final Fantasy game that has nothing to do with 1-6 so this game is perfect if you have never played the series. Graphics: 9(great for psp graphics) Gameplay: 10!!! (awesome timeless gameplay) Battle System: 9 (auto aim is on so you cannot just hit random people it is set on the 1 closest to you) Music: 10 (as all Final Fantasy music) Controls: 10 (easy to get used to maybe 20-30 minutes?) Overall: 9.6 (rounded up to a 10)
