Very Good

I'm running from my own shadow

I admit, it could be I just finished this game, but I really liked it. I haven't been this scared by a video game since the Fatal Frame games, all of which were really scary, too.

The pacing is very slow. I didn't mind this, but it's worth noting, because if you're looking for fast-paced action, this game isn't for you. There's a "sprint" button, but it only gives you about 8 seconds of "sprint" and it's more like a jog.

However, I hardly used that sprint button. For the most part, I took it nice and slow, trying to figure out where the next scary moment would come from so I wouldn't throw my controller in fright.

The graphics are wonderful. Everything is deeply shadowed, with light effects really being the star of the game - these shadows work just like real shadows, so when you walk in front of a window with a light source behind it, everything in front of you is cast in a you-shaped shadow.

Combat's great, too, because you're limited to the ammo you find in a gun (only one bullet left in that revolver? No thanks!) and other environmental pieces you can use as weapons, like pipes, locker doors, and (my personal favorite) fire axes.

There are a lot of achievements to unlock and extras to find, too, which can keep you coming back. If you like survival horror games, this is one of the best. Don't miss it.

The most frightening game I have ever played!

Condemned: Crimainal Origins is amazing! By far the most frightening game I have ever played! By now you shold already know all the in's and out's of the storyline so I will not re-hash what you already know.

I play on a 30" HDTV with my surround sound headphones on, so as not to interrupt the wife unit as she watches her shows! There were so many instances where I was so freaked out that I literally jumped and shreiked! The thrills and chills were that good. Let it be know that the game starts out very good and you are playing along thinking to yourself that "this isn't so bad" and than things change and the environments get a little darker and the enemies get a little freakier ... I won't go any further because I was totally taken by suprise by the storyline and you shoud be too. If you like this type of game, do yourself a favor and put it on your Q and make sure no little kids are around while you play!

This game defiantely has some hollywood feel to it! If you like movies like "Seven" and "28 days later" you will without a doubt love this game!

I can't say enough about this game. Although it is reklitively short (10 hours, give or take) if you leave it on the shelf for a day or two the thrills and chills come right back as you try for all the achievements!

Kudos to Monolith for creating a truly adult-oriented storyline that delivers on so many levels!

I really like this game. The graphics are great, and the gameplay is awsome. As you investigate and trail "The Matchmaker" you battle all sorts or crazed psychos and drug addicts. Sometimes just watching what they do is half the fun. Many times they will actually start fighing each other ignoring you till one of them die. The combat is simply visceral. Lots of melee fighting with various different types of weapons that you actually find in the environment itself. Beating the life out of a crazed druggie psycho with the arm off a maniquin is oddly satisfying. You also can earn achievements by seeking out hidden dead birds throughout each chapter. I highly recommend this game. I loved it.
