Fun but tiresome

I have never played God of War so I cannot come out and say this is a direct clone, although from what I have seen of God of War and this game, it looks like what others say about that is true.
I started out with the demo of this game and figured I would use it as a filler game until Guitar Hero 3 and Call of Duty 4 came out. I beat it this past weekend and it was a fun time all around.
The graphics are easy on the eyes and blood is literally caked on the ground after Conan is done with a fight. There are some humorous moments in the game involving digital topless maidens that you save to get more Red Runes to buy more combos and grapple moves. There is a huge selection of combos to choose from for single handed, dual wield, and two handed weapons. You can throw the weapons and shields you pick up at the enemies, not Conan's sword though, for a little extra damage. All in all it was a fun rental, but now to the downfall.
The game, even on King mode, is not that challenging. The only challenge you face is when to block and roll out of the way of powerful block breaker attacks. This resorts into a hit, hit, roll/block repetition that tends to get boring after the first few levels. Boss fights are more boring than normal enemy fights, at least in the end you are left with limbs and severed heads sitting in pools upon pools of blood. Boss fights end up being, for me at least, a Triple Strike combo or Double Strike combo depending on if I used a shield and single handed blade or a two handed blade. This makes the boss fights repetitive and you have to resort to cheap tactics to win at times. The lost boss is ridiculous in this fact and I along with others have died more times than we would have liked to because of the tactics used by the enemies to get kills.
In short it is a fun 7 hour game(I beat it in just under 7 hours on Hard), worth a rental to burn some time with, but I would not suggest this as a buy to even the most hardcore Conan fans.
