Interesting at first, but can get boring quick...

I have to agree with JMichaud on a lot of those points.

The first thing I noticed was that there were very few tracks. The tracks are quite unique, and I love the fact I have to dodge fireballs from a dragon; but then you realize there are only 5 really unique tracks and you go "oh... I'm glad I rented this". I didn't master the game long enough to unlock tracks 11-15, but I assume they are just harder versions of tracks 1-5.

I also didn't care for the joystick operation. I prefer the Mario Kart way of driving because it's a lot more natural. Cocoto Kart Racer forces you to use your thumb to drive (I don't often use my thumb to drive a car). On the plus side, the skidding was pretty cool, and that was a bit more natural.

Normal mode is definitely more difficult than normal mode on Mario Kart. While I like a challenge, this can get very frustrating. It's my opinion that the game designers had to make it tough to compensate for the lack of tracks.

In general, I'm going to also have to say save your money and rental time for Mario Kart if you want a lot of variety on tracks, characters, cars, and in general everything else. I only played Mario Kart for about 30 mins with my niece and nephew, but those 30 mins were a lot more fun than the time I spent playing Cocoto Kart Racer.

A lot of people said this game was sucks, well it doesn't. This game was so fun because of the tracks and the karts. They were amazingly sweet! Skrew Mario Kart, Go Cocoto Kart Racer!!!!!!

Mario and his friends are back in another installment - wait this is Cocoto Kart Racer, not Mario Kart Wii.
But there are far too many similarities between the two - powerups, booster pads and lap counter.
But Mario Kart Wii has 32 courses; this has only 15, five of which I can't unlock because I have trouble winning the first ten races on Normal setting.
That's right - even if you win the first two cups on Easy setting it won't unlock the last five tracks.
What makes it hard to win on Normal? First, the AI is far too good at handling hairpin turns. No matter which kart or player I pick, the computer blows past me in those turns.
Second, my kart choice is limited. If I wanted to win the race I'd have to pick the kart with the best handling to take on the many, many tight corners, twists and turns.
Third, some of the booster pads are badly placed. When I hit those pads, I fly right off the track. It go so bad I avoided them.
Fourth, the tracks are hardly original. They take the first five tracks and add a few more features and make five more tracks.
This is better than Cocoto's Magic Circus, but not by much.
I say you skip this game and save up for Mario Kart Wii. It's far better than this.
