Chrono Trigger has always been a favorite among RPG fans, and rightfully so being one of Square's greatest departures from Final Fantasy. This port is no exception, and is, in fact, more than a mere port of the original. It is everything the PSX port was meant to be and more. Where the PSX port suffered great lag during gameplay transistions--most notably when entering battle--this one does not. And it still retains the additional anime cutscenes.
On top of all this, an addictional dungeon, new last boss and new weapons are thrown in for good measure. Oh, and a new secret ending that ties things to Chrono Cross, the oft-disregarded sequel, much better.
Other than this, the game remains the same. The same great characters, same simple yet addicting battle system, same replay value, and same strangely haunting musical score and graphics. This is a must play for RPG fans.
