I don't want to rag on this game because I didn't give it much of a chance.
It's not bad, but since I'm so used to Halo, I'm used to fast paced 'shoot and grenade'.
This game is more tactical, "Hide annd attack".
If I had the patience I think this could be a lot of fun.

Almost like 'Mirrors Edge' meets 'Halo'.

Worth the rent, but don't expect fast paced frenzy.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is one of the better games I have played in the past year. It is not an over complex game so the frustration level stays pretty low for the most part. The controls are a simple concept to grasp making it fairly easy to become a killing machine. They didn't go all out on the gore factor like some games do and that makes it a good blanced game right off. Vin Diesel does the voice over of course and does his job making Riddick look like a total badass.

I got lost in a few parts, but that was mostly because I wasn't looking at things that were right in front of my face. It is fairly easy to find your way through the game and the story of it is great. Sure it may not be perfect, but it makes for a very entertaining game. The lighting in certain areas can make it difficult to see enemies walking around and can be a little frustrating at times. For people who like games with collectables this one has plenty.

I still haven't mentioned one of the best parts. It is two games on one disk! You get to play Escape From Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena with only renting the one disk. Butcher Bay came out in 2004 so some may have already played it, but it's fun going back through and playing it again. They changed a few small parts, but it is still the same story. Now you can get achievements out of it and that is always fun.

The game offers a good challenge when playing on hard. It isn't too difficult to the point where a lot of people are just going to give up on it. There are quite a bit of save points so it makes dying not as bad. On hard a couple of the things you encounter can be very difficult and take some strategy to take down, but nothing too bad.

Overall this game is well worth the play and for those who haven't played Butcher Bay they will get two great stories all on the one disk.

Vin Diesel is back and hes ready for more. The first Chronicles of Riddick brought Diesel sneaking around in the dark. And this one does too. In this game you sneak around while trying not to be detected. But if you do, dont worry, if you get detected you can still kill a bot and jack his gun. So as you go through the game you sneak around in the dark and try to stay out of the light. And when you get the chance you can go behind somebody and assassinate them. Silently or you can make noise. But prouble the most impresive thing about this game is its not just one, its two. The first Chronicle of Riddick is in this and the new version is too. But the first version of the game has basically been redone. So this game is really a steal. This game also has multiplayer too. The multiplayer isnt quite as good as Call of Duty or Halo, but it really adds to the game. Which will make the game live on past the campaign. So if you like Vin Diesel, the last one, or if you like shooter games, try this game out today!
