I could not wait to write a review of this game after playing for a few hours, just to rip it apart. But then I decided to try to beat it, hoping maybe it would get better. It didn't. I would not suggest to play this game at all, even if you're renting for your 10yr old kid. It would be wayyy too hard for them, and any adult considering playing this game needs a gf.

This game is just terrible on so many levels. Let's start with the basics:

>>>There is no jumping. Yes, that's right; no jumping in this game. Just walk around the whole game trying to figure out what's a step you can actually walk on, and what's not. This was unbelievable frustrating as you keep hitting A button to jump.. but oh wait.. that's attack? A button should never be attack.

>>>The controls are horrendous. See above, with A button. Not only are there like 18 unused buttons, but the ones that do work, really don't work. When they do respond (like 7 seconds later) it won't do what you want it to. Or if you're trying to switch between characters by pressing Y, it may take like 9 times, and you better not move an inch because if you do, you won't quite get it... The actions are more delayed than you'd ever want.

>>>In game tutorials were a joke, and the map to 'guide' you is also useless. They don't give you direction on missions, which is fine at times with me, but you'll wonder around a map with nothing to do.

>>>Bad graphics, bad sound, bad gameplay, bad everything. Oh yea, the camera angles I just remembered are also awful! There are so many times where your character is missing behind a wall or you'll find secrets that you can't see. Worst angles ever.

Basically if you're looking for some achievement points, this would be a good game to rent, if you can get past the frustrating pile of garbage first. Otherwise go scroll through the other 1000 games and pick something else. Trust me.

What Were They Thinking?

By "they," I mean the programmers.

I really wanted to like this game. I'm a life-long fan of The Chronicles of Narnia and thought the game would be a nice change of pace.

Nope. The puzzles are horrible, and it's seldom clear what you have to do to finish it. Even then, the game goes out of its way to make things difficult for the player. (Time limits for quests that require a lot of slow moving. Poor aiming. The same button does multiple things, so if you aren't extremely careful about when you hit a button, you will get the wrong result.)

Given that the target audience is children, I have no idea why the game is so complex.
