First, there was Chicken Shoot - one of the worst Wii games I’ve had the displeasure of playing
Then came Chicken Panic, which was much better than Chicken Shoot, but not quite good enough to make the grade.
Now comes Chicken Riot, where the chickens are out on the warpath (maybe to get revenge on all their poultry pals that got shot during Chicken Shoot)
The main game has you (and possibly one other friend) going through up to 8 levels. Each level has you wandering about, trying to shoot every chicken that comes into sight.
These chickens will shoot back at you with many eggs, and some will kamikaze into you. Each of their hits takes a bit off your health bar, and when the health bar runs out, you die and have to go through the level all over again. (These are the only games where a guy can die from being embarrassed to have egg on his face)
But you have weapons to fight back; a regular handgun and the possibility of temporarily getting a machine gun or a shotgun to dish out a lot of damage to the chickens. You can also recover lost health in certain spots.
There are also 10 Golden Eggs per level which you can collect, and mini games to unlock. The first mini game you don’t have to do anything, and the each of the other four are unlocked when you complete two different levels of the game.
But let’s face it; this game is nothing more than an average rail shooter with average weapons and average enemies (there are few mildly amusing spots where the game makes fun of Harry Potter, Star Wars and the Terminator).
And the mini games are flat; you have to shoot 100 chickens before they escape or hit you ten times.
The savior is supposed to be the two player mode, but even that is bland; it’s just the single player mode with a second player tacked on.
If you’re looking for a very run of the mill shooter, then give Chicken Riot a try, but the rest of us can pass up on these chickens. SKIP IT.

all the reviews i read about this game said it was awesome and the best they had ever played. i found it boring and stupid, and i like shooter. the graphics were clunky, the story was no where to be found, and there was really no point. could it be more fun with four people? maybe, but i doubt it. two thumbs way down.
