The game itself is very simplistic, its got to do with climbing this tower of blocks and the tower gets harder and harder the higher up you go all the while its falling down around you and things chase you up as well. Its still just a puzzle game although its storyline is what got me hooked. Its very in depth and interesting. I find myself just flying through the puzzles of blocks so I can find out what happens next in the story. Its about a guy whos girlfriend wants to take their relationship to the next level but he just wants things to stay as is. Its a game that most guys can relate to. Try it out for yourself, I dont want to give too much away!
This game is crazy! I've never played anything like it before. Definately add this to your Q, it may be a little frustrating at times bc the game is pretty dang hard sometimes. I dont know if I would recommend buying it, just b/c the only games I buy anymore are awesome shooters and sports titles. But It's definately a good pick up!!
When I heard about Catherine a year ago, I instantly knew that I was going to love this game; and once I heard that it was going to be released in America, I jumped at the thought and put it on my Gamefly queue as fast as I could.
Gameplay: Once I got the game the day after it released, I popped it in my Xbox 360 and played it for literally 13 hours straight, I was THAT into the game. The game features a very unique system that lets you choose what part of the story you would like to take in, evil, good, or neutral. There are questions throughout each level which will also help determine if you want to be good or evil. The unique and frustrating gameplay will bring you anger, yet keeping you from throwing down the controller in frustration.
Story: I didn't only want to play the game for it's gameplay, but I wanted to play it for it's very dramatic story. In my opinion, this story is one of the best up to this day, excluding RPG titles. While I was playing it I seemed to get sucked into it, and every time something bad happened, my heart started pounding as I was scared something bad might happen if I chose the evil answer.
Voice Acting: When I first heard that this game was going to be released in the United States, I found myself thinking that the voice acting was going to be very poor and not well done, but Atlus proved my wrong. The voice acting in this game is GREAT. Every single character in the game had a very unique voice, and made me feel like I was really into the game.
Soundtrack: This game features a very unique soundtrack that might just have you listening to the background music instead of paying attention to the game. Some of the songs on this game were specifically made for this game, and I was surprised by how well done they were.
Conclusion: Since I'm coming to an end of characters left, I'm going to put a stop to my review here although there is so much more to compliment. Overall Rating: 10 (10-A game that should most definitely be tried out)
