Not a bad game. The story was ok and the game play was ok. Neither was hugely impressive. The combat system is very close to God of War. The DLC was very short and did not seem to me to be worth the cost.

Before renting this game through GameFly a buddy of mine had me play the demo of LOS 2 which was sick. I truly enjoyed the graphics and play of the demo. Naturally I looked up the first one to rent because I am not the type that goes into a sequel without the backstory of the first one. Since recieving the game it has been difficult for me to finish it. It began beautifully and the narration from Patrick Stewart had my hair raise. So awesome. However, as the game progressed it grew harder and harder to go on and want to play. It is very repetitive and you know when a boss is about to be fought. The only compelling reason of wanting to move forward is that of wanting to play the 2nd. I honestly don't know how far along I am but atm I could care less, I'm just glad I never bought this game.
graphics are real nice, combos are somewhat fluid,
level originallity is terrible, rent only do not buy. (less you are a Castlevania collector)

Lover of the series from way back. But, a so-so story and lackluster game play really puts a damper on the fun.
Lack of information leaves you running in circles or "Google-ing" a way to continue your progress. Camera is a hassle at best. The combat can be fun, but it is far from original. So much potential, just keeps shooting itself in the foot throughout.
Play this if you love Castlevania. If you arent a Belmont at heart, its worth a try, but will most likely leave you disappointed.
