The game in itself is not bad, just not as impressive as I thought it would be. It captured the look, feel, and story of a Castlevania game but I felt like it dropped the ball on several parts. For one, the speed. Belmont seemed to be walking through syrup or sludge through the entire game. For having the blood line of generations of vampire hunters, he seemed to also inherit the speed of a 50 year old burned out hippie. Also, the boss battles seemed WAY to easy. The first few was just finding the right place to stand and whipping the evil out of them. There seemed to be absolutely no thought process behind the boss designs, or the AI that controlled them. Finaly, the level designs seemed way to basic to me as well. The branching areas were to far apart and didn't really make a difference to the outcome of the level (save the few extra characters you could find this way). Like starting with the first unlock able character, it had the Doom yellow key for yellow door that I have seen so many times before.
In all, the game did catch my attention for a little while, but didn't have the replayability aspect that I really look for in a game.
