Castle of Shikigami III brings back memories of the top down shooters from the 1990s (or maybe even earlier than that).
There's fun in blowing up bad guys, and some of the cut scenes have wit in them.
But the game play boils down to one fact - no matter who you choose, this game is about your ability to figure out the pattern of the bad guys' fire, and use that knowledge to dodge their attacks. CoSIII started fun, then turns into a chore.
I was hoping for more unique weapons for both sides, better graphics, and more thrilling stories. Didn't get it, but there's hope the fourth game in the franchise will deliver.
