I have always liked captain america as a character. He's athletic, super human, and highly symbolic of core american values. And while this game scratches a few itches with regard to being Cap, it falls short of giving you a memorable captain america experience. The combat is front and center the strongest aspect of the game. Some very cool looking moves are possible and staying damage free can be challenging. But then the game fails to give you as much of the fighting as one would want. Even the challenge maps left much to be desired in this regard (and that's just plain dumb).
However, the story is a decent trip and the action from start to finish is fun...but there just isn't much to keep you playing after the second time through.
And so, in closing, since this is a rental site DO rent the game. It's totally worth that much and a blast if you just treat it as popcorn fun.
