More Story Than Other COD's

I just finished Black Ops in one sitting this afternoon. It took about 7 hours to complete which flew by because it was so much fun. This game keeps the same high speed tension in the battle sequences like previous COD's. It looks a little less impressive in some areas. Fire for example looks a little blurry and shooting at distant targets is a little tough to see. But the same good ole' game-play in respectable combat conditions.
What really amplified this one for me was the commitment to stick to one man's story. You play 90% as Mason, voiced by Sam Worthington, as he tries to sort out a terrorist plot in the mid 1960's. I found the addition of better storytelling to be the missing piece in the COD franchise. Yes the others were good but I think this is better. I also found it easier to follow one guy than having to jump around to different soldiers every other mission.
This has a twisty narrative that might seem foreign to the series, however American history supports the branches Black Ops wonders out on. For instance World at War had Kiefer narrate where you're going, who you were, then you drop in and fight. This game drops you in one linear point after another, allowing you to experience Mason's journey chronologically.
I really liked Black Ops and I think people who are tired of military shooters will enjoy the plot and the time period enough to play this one through. The best element is the story that spans about 7 years, in order, with only a few deviations in time and characters.
