What did Activision do to the Call of Duty franchise? I really believe that is no longer about "quality" but just about how much $$$ they can milk out of this poor-excuse of a game. I decided to rent this game before purchasing it because my online friends had bought the game - and by their sounds of frustration, and complaining about the lag every game - I just had to see if it was really that hard to play.
The multiplayer is ridiculousness. Spawns are not "smart" and you will land up being placed a several feet in front of your enemy - not even COD3 did that. After getting frustrated with multiplayer, I decided to leave matchmaking to play some "Zombies", in which I was set up with a team of three whom all seemed well below the age of 17. I was then bombarded with being called derogatory and discriminatory names, for simply asking "What is the point/goal" of the game. I'm pretty sure I was sent bad-feedback/was reported because they decided I had some mental illness to me - and literally said "I'm reporting this guy, he is weird.".
Also, the graphics in campaign mode (the opening story didn't catch my attention what-so-ever) are horrendous. I really do feel like this is the "Rainbow Six Lockdown" of the Call of Duty series.
You'll spend a lot of time watching amazing set pieces and not playing them. The fun is interrupted too often by explosions where control is taken away and you have to do these annoying interactive cutscenes . The omg moments are not impressive because they happen often.
Multiplayer is fun but having played every Call of duty since Cod 4, I got bored after playing a couple games. Feels old and new weapons and titles are not going to do it for me.
yea its better than last years game but thats not saying much. the lag in this game is terrible. how the heck can you headshot someone point blank range with an 870 in the head and it doesn't count now that is just god awful. they need to take some of that money they made in 24 hours and make dedicated servers on console. on the bright side of things the single player is good at least treyarch is actually doing some work on this game instead
of repackedging the previous title and calling it a new one.
they still need a new engine though it's starting to get a little long in the tooth.
