If you are looking for a unique, innovative FPS, then try something else, CoD 3 is just your typical WWII shooter, however it is a pretty enjoyable game. Aiming is done entirely with the wii remote and this seems to work pretty well, Call of duty 3 gives you several options for adjusting sensitivity and control style, I have found it works best with dynamic aim set to "off" this causes the camera to behave like a PC FPS where the whole screen moves with your crosshair. The graphics are not comparable to the PS3 or 360 versions of the game but it still looks pretty good and there are a lot of nice explosions and smoke effects. Gameplay is very linear but does require some decent strategy. one problem I had was the dumb AI on my side jamming stairways and trapping me in a position where I was killed. this game makes use of the wiis unique controls when planting explosives, driving, and fighting a german hand to hand. some of these actions work quite well while others are a bit unresponsive and only add frustration. Despite these shortcomings it is still a decent game, you will spend about 10 hours fighting through the Normandy breakout campaign. I recommend this as a rental, but not worth buying.
Call of Duty 3, Sequel to The Best First Person WWII Game on the Xbox 360. But not the best First Person Game on the Wii.
Although the Xbox 360 and PS3's versions of COD3 are almost identical to the Wii version, the other systems easily take the advantage. The first person aspect takes getting used to, and without online play as of now, it loses a great area of gameplay.
The graphics are toned down due to the Wii's lower rate hardware, and look blocky and hardly next-gen.
Overall, if you want this game, buy it for another system, but if the Wii is all you have, take a stab at Call of Duty 3, because besides its clunky feel, and better other-system variations, Call of Duty 3, at its core, is still a good game.
I rented this game and it was awesome. I dont need super graphics, the controls/fun factor were awesome! This game was fairly easy I thought, but I had fun the whole way through the game.
The Wii-mote is awesome to aim, its like a virtual mouse. Analog controls for shooters just doesnt cut it, but this makes it so easy to pick off enemies. And the way you open doors/change weapons/throw grenades is just awesome and natural with the controls.
