This is one of the classic call of dutys and it is like the rest a waste of time! The achievements are easy but to get them you have to play for hours with a AI that seams to cheat. I wouldnt suggest getting this unless you like pointless growling hours of a horrible AI distorying you.

A case study in lazy game design.

I suspect the only reason this game has as high of a rating as it currently does is because it was a launch title and because the IW fanbois don't know (or don't care) about how horrible of a game this is when compared to the original Call of Duty.

The first Call of Duty (and it's expansion) were amazing games. They were linear, but the combat was dynamic and it was immersive. Sure, it's a little dated today graphically but it still holds up remarkably well in the gameplay department.

That said, the sequel is nothing like the original. The only similarity is that they both take place in WW2.

The biggest flaw here is that apparently Infinity Ward couldn't have been arsed to play through their own game and create limited enemy spawns like the original had. Instead, in an incredibly idiotic decision, enemies will spawn infinitely in most areas until you pass an invisible trigger.

That could have been forgiven if it weren't for the fact that the allied AI is basically non-existent, especially when compared against the enemy AI. Your allies will stand in the middle of nowhere, run in front of you when you fire (resulting in an instant failure due to friendly fire), and stand in doorways and stairwells causing you to get shot and killed in the process. They'll even throw grenades at you (WHY?!). Thankfully your allies respawn infinitely too, but that's small compensation.

Of course, it really doesn't matter that you have AI to help you out as well since enemies will instantly lock on to you and fire on you (and only you) if you're even slightly visible.

These flaws were carried over into MW and MW2 as well.

Don't rent this for the achievements either. You have to play through on Veteran to get nearly all of them, and trust me---it's no fun.

At any rate, if Infinity Ward can't be bothered to put effort into their games, then I can't be bothered to play them. I don't normally accuse people of being sellouts, but that's exactly what IW are. Overrated hacks.
