First of all a disclaimer: I’m not a PETA affiliated. In fact I’m a gun owner and go deer hunting every season.
When I seen this game for the first time, I did not have high expectations. Let’s be real here, how can you simulate real hunting experience of sitting in the blinds all day or stalking deer through the woods on XBOX360? You can’t. I figured this game basically approximates the stalking and shooting using various realistically modeled firearms. Good enough, ritgh?
I was wrong. Basically this game is a bad COD clone set in beautiful scenic nature. You can’t really go anywhere far from trail as it seems you are always locked in to some narrow canyon and must always follow predetermined path like on rails. It can be summed up like this: you walk down a narrow trail until you bump in to some animals, you shoot and score points for a kill based on how close you creep up to the target, where the bullet hit, and size of the animal. That’s it! Between all that you get to play mini-games which involve killing as many small creatures as possible with a shotgun in one minute.
After clearing several levels I was seriously bored and quickly packaged the game to return back to the GF.
On the positive side, the only good thing about it is abundance of easy achievement points. After playing through first several levels I unlocked over 120 points. It seemed like game gives you achievement points for just walking, at least that should keep some people from falling asleep while playing. This is defiantly a rental game, if you are a hunter don’t expect anything of interest here.
