I was disappointed in this game. The cartoon graphics were highly distracting. I enjoy the aspect of having to hunt and find clues, however there is no real mystery. This game doesn't challenge your mind, it doesn't give the ability to really be a CSI. I certainly hope with the next game they go back to the old way they did them. This new format isn't fun at all. I had the game 2 days and was done. It only took me 2 days because I had the flu and didn't play it straight.
I knew that this game was going to have a cartoon look, and I really tried to overlook that. However, after playing all the other CSI games, it was hard to get past. Finding the clues is very easy. Solving each case is not challenging at all. This game reminded me of the pheonix wright games, which I hated, because there is more reading than clue finding. I also did not like how sometimes the text would auto advance, so if I was talking to my husband or one of my kids, I would miss out on what was said in the game and could not go back and reread it. And sometimes the scene was too long and I could not skip through to the end of the sentence. Another con was that I could not process all of the evidence myself. The guy at the lab processed a lot of the evidence for me and sometimes I had to wait to get the results. The story line is very basic and not as engaging as would like.
The good news is that these cases are not the same as the ones on the Wii and Xbox versions, so I will rent one of those and hopefully get the CSI quality game that I'm used to.
In the meantime, I will finish this game because I am not a quitter and I finish everything I start.
