Not nearly as horrible as I was anticipating

I thought the third person shooter genre was kind of lacking on my 360, so I rented this game with low expectations. All the reviews are absolutely horrible, but actually, I enjoyed Bullet Witch a lot more than Lost Planet, which was backed up by months of hype and excessively optimistic reviews. I would be hard pressed to ever call this game "great." There are a lot of balance issues in the gameplay, there's some leftover engrish here and there, it takes half an hour to turn around, and the camera is idiotic. But, the magic powers are really a lot of fun, the enemies and environments are occasionally terrifying, and I must grudgingly admit, I'm slightly attracted to the uber stereotypical goth girl main character, Alicia.

If you can forgive this game its flaws, and enjoy horror/shooter games, this is worth a rent.

The game has promise, but there is major gripes: calling up spells and spell casting is done terribly, it's sometimes frustrating and hard to figure out what to do next, and the ratios between the characters and environment look awkward. The in-game graphics aren't anything to brag about and the game play is an overall disappointment. Why would Atari release such an unpolished game? I beat the first level, got 10 gamer points, and that's all I could take. I tried to play through the second campaign, but I just couldn't sit through it!! I would rather play a game that isn't boring and repetitive! I thought the cinematic and storyline were great, too bad the game play isn't.

I will admit when i first saw the trailer for this game i was pretty excited.When i finally got the chance to play it i was pretty impressed.I mean yea the 360 is capibale of so much more.But graphics arent everything.The game play is pretty straight forward once you get the hang of using the magic this game is fun.Definitly not worth buyin but definitly worth a rent.What do you have to lose u dont like it send it back.
