High expectations often make for disappointment. I felt the same sort of excitement for this game as I did for Fable II's coop until I played it. Brutal Legend needs to be played on Brutal difficulty or else it will be just too short for your taste. Try to find everything and enjoy the beautiful landscape and all its hidden goodies. But like listening to too much heavy metal, you'll start feeling angry and lonely. Then you'll try the multiplayer. Why can't we select individual units more simply than trying to highlight them with the Y button? Battles tend to be frustrating but enjoyable once completed. I would love for more games to include this awesome strategy element but hope that they will learn how to incorporate it into the gameplay as a whole rather than just as a mission that needs to be accomplished.
This will take you less than a week (14 hours) to brutalize.

1) One of the greatest soundtracks of all time it has everything from Three Inches of Blood to Motley Crew. 2) Not just a hack 'n' slash game its some-what of a RTS at the same time 3) Boss Battles are EPIC! 4) Storyline has plenty of twists that will keep you from getting bored.
1) Its somewhat short. 2) You can only listen to music while in or near your car
Overall: Worth renting wouldn't recommend buying it play it twice maybe three times but i wouldn't pay full price
