Been hooked since the Demo

I had this game in my gameq and it was in the top slot on the day of its release, but I did not recieve it because I wasn't one of the "lucky ones" =) Anyway, since I had played the demo, I've been wanting to get my hands on this game and play it. I knew right away it would be a favorite of mine. So, I drove about an hour and a half to a store that still had some of this game in stock and I purchased it. I must say that it starts out almost identically as the demo I've played over and over and still I am hooked. I cannot put the game down!! A definite rental for anyone who likes rock and roll and pummeling bad guys. Cheers!!

Heavy Metal Yellow Submarine

This is like the Heavy Metal equivalent of the Yellow Submarine movie. You liberate the world through the awesomeness of heavy metal. :)

It seems that it is short but that's probably if you only play the main story line. But that's fine that it's short. Because it's tight. It's almost like a long animated movie (another similarity to Yellow Submarine). the way the game flows from one mission to the next, you don't get bored. It is very well done.

And as someone else mentioned, there are many hidden things to find and give you more buying power to increase your abilities. It is probably an 8 hour main story line game but you could easily double that if you try to find everything. That's just the single player.

It has online multiplayer (doesn't appear to have to split screen multi) and has a very interesting RTS style mode for this. You can get into 2 teams of 3.

At the VERY least you should rent it and check out the tight story that is very well portrayed by Jack Black's voice and the animation of him that is right on with his expressions, just like Shrek. Very impressive. Deserves awards for this aspect.

BRUTAL FREAKING LEGEND!!!

This game is so metal.

I am not even sure were to start. Brutal Legend is one of the best games I have played this year. I love every thing about this game from major things such as; Jack Black being the main character, to the very tiny things such as the idea of having Sea Gulls be microphones with wings. It has a great, funny, compelling storyline. The Graphics aren't "The Best" but they are FAR from being the worst. The voice acting is great and the addition of all of the bands that are in the soundtrack just made the game even better.

Time to take a sec to switch sides... There are just a couple of problems I had with the game, such as not being able to jump. You would think that in an Action/Adventure game they would add the ability to jump but, nope; nothing... Also some times the Druid Plow, A.K.A. The Deuce, I some times lost control of the steering even if I wasn't pushing any buttons. This would only happen if I tried to drive over something and I couldn't it seemed as if The Deuce tried to make up for the time I had just spent running over that guy. This can get kind of annoying because I have accidentally driven off the edge of a cliff because of this. One other VERY tiny thing I had a problem with was the frame rate did seem to drop in a few areas but this is hardly worth bringing up because it is not like this for very long maybe a couple of seconds at the must. I am happy it is not through out the game at 30 FPS like some games uh hum UFC: Undisputed...

But overall I loved Brutal Legend and I can't wait to see what kind of Add-ons they will add this game. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who loves exploring new landscapes, loves everything metal, and loves Jack Black.
