This game offers a lot of pros and cons, the pros are the great voice cast (e.g. some legendary Metal Singers) Jack, Black ECT. The backgrounds are taken from Metal Albums. The cons would be the gameplay itself and I feel this game could've worked as a CGI movie and it reminds me of the 1980 Cult Classic Heavy Metal. At times this game is hack and slash with the main characters using Ax's and guitars to summon electricity, fire and earthquakes. At times it reminds me of lemmings where Jack Black will instruct headbangers to attack guards, animals, ect. And at times you're driving around the Middle Aged- Heavy Metal Experience with nothing more than some classic Metal Bands. I really wanted to like this game, but it became too repetitive and I felt that I have heard this song one too many times.

You are Eddie Riggs, a roadie with great talents working with the worst band you can imagine. They play bad music and Eddie is always saving them which is what gets him sent to the world of Brutal Legend (I don't want to spoil it). I will say, that you will go through many missions and with them it will explain your place in this world.

Many things are great about this game but it is still not flawless in any way shape or form. The great things about this game are the music, voice acting, upgradeable weapons and vehicle customization.

Let's start with the music, I am a huge fan of metal but mainly death metal so I figured I wouldn't like the soundtrack much, I was wrong. The soundtrack is almost the fuel to the fire of Brutal Legend. The music gets you amped, even if you don't like metal too much. It's still a good soundtrack because I don't like half the bands but I still found myself getting into it.

Next we get into the voice acting, the voice acting is another huge strong point of this game. You have stars such as Jack Black as Eddie Riggs, Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath) as The Guardian of Metal, Tim Curry as Lord Doviculus, Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead) as The Killmaster, and even Kyle Gass makes any appearance. There are many more but too many to name so I will let you explore and figure that out for your selves.

To upgrade your vehicle and weapons you must enter the motor forge which will take you to The Guardian of Metal. You can go crazy and upgrade any which way you want. Engulf your axe in flames, string up your guitar to destroy enemies, or add heat seeking missles to your car (known as The Deuce).

Now for the bad, the handling of the car is hard at some points and you'll find yourself in awkward spots. The strategy aspect of this game is not for me and gets too chaotic at times. Really, that is all I have to say about the bad things about this game. It is a great game so go out and rent it, you'll have hours of fun!
