Highway to Heck

It's a bit of a snore. Black is his chortling slob-genius self, as usual, and the game world is mildly creative, though nothing we haven't seen done loads better in, say, the Oddworld or Ratchet & Clank series. It's also fun to see various metal legends make their cameos.

But the game mechanic is dull and repetitive. The side missions hold no interest at all after the first go, and the big kahuna -- the stage battles -- is essentially what can be found in $.99 iPhone games. I was expecting a lot more and tired of it after an hour; thank Lucifer for rentals!

Very entertaining multimedia-type game but lacks..

I really had fun playing this game and I love Jack Black (in a man-crush sort of way). The style, story, character actors, devotion to METAL, visual content, dialog and artwork are all top notch.

What this game truly lacks is a nod to the hardcore gamer (like me). I finished the single-player campaign on Hard difficulty in 12 hours. I really really wish they would have spent more time developing content for single-player because I do not appreciate when game developers get lazy by foisting the work of creating fun on the user. I want more for my money dang it!! MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, I'm gonna go on a limb here and say that this is the most entertaining game I have played in a long time. You've got Jack Black to thank for this AWESOME game. Its an open map with a large play area, you can rock a quick solo to spawn the Druid Plow (a wicked hot rod that is fully customizable with machine guns, rocket launchers, flame throwers, mine dropper, and armor to deck it out) There's a main story line that takes a good couple of days of straight playing to get through. You meet Kyle Gas, Ozzy Osbourne, and a few others to recognize. The story is good, not just some weird plot to follow, but something to keep pushing toward. The side missions are quirky yet fun (beer run to the beach, ambushes, races, and other challenges) The soundtrack is all Rock, or should I say Heavy Metal, it can be a bit much, but there are hidden artifacts that unlock more songs. There are over 100 songs total in the game. I rated this game a 9 of 10.
