the start of the game was cool, but after an hour, the game gets really boring and lame. the soundtrack while it had some cool songs, i was seeing that there were a couple of songs that would play over and over, so you never got to hear any of the other tracks...heck i got to the point that turning off the music was less annoying than the soundtrack itself. game play was either too hard or too easy and while jack black is not funny in my mind, he sure made me want to bash my head in the wall with his annoying remarks throughout the game.
I had such high hopes for this game and from the very beginning, the game seemed to live up to those expectations. Before I go any further, let me say I'm not a huge fan of Jack Black, I don't see ever movie and I don't think he's the funniest guy out there. That said, the character he voices is very well done. Really all of the characters add something to the story in their own way. My major gripe about this game is really the gameplay itself. The battle system relies solely on button mashing (think Kingdom Hearts I and II) where one button is close range attack, one is long range attack, and one blocks. Thats all. Keep mashing away until all of your enemies are gone and continue along with the game. Where it really jumps off the rails is when it switches over to a Starcraft style build up your army and defend your territory game. Not at ALL what I was hoping for and really just killed the experience entirely.
Not that it's anything new, but here is another pointless, boring that no one could possibly want to play, an awful soundtrack recording that I wasn't even looking for in the first place alongside ever other element of the game being put together horribly. This game contradicts its mature rating like most mature rated titles and comes of aim at a 5 year with terrets syndrome.
Couldn't at least one game I played in like the last 6 month's be worth playing for even a couple of minutes, oh yeah, Siren and Space Invaders Extreme ROCK, but that's about it.
