IGN Preview of Bratz: Forever Diamondz
If you don't know Bratz, close your browser window right now and go back to life as a total square. If you know and love the Bratz, then THQ has the game for you. Based on the Bratz feature film, Bratz Diamondz gives gals a chance to play as all four Bratz as they attempt to win the America Rocks Fashion competition.
As one of the Bratz, you can dress up in a variety of clothing, change your hair and even apply make-up. There's tons of different colors and even face paint patterns to choose from, each changing depending on which of the game's three locations your butt's parked in. Bratz Diamondz features licensed Bratz merchandise and the all new pet clothing line that will also carry the Bratz brand.
You'll also have a pet -- dog or kitty cat -- which you can dress up and take to pet shows. Your loving animal (cats are better according to the bible), must perform tricks at these shows with a series of well-timed button combos. Roll around little kitty, you are the star of your own show.
It's not all fun and games. There's a pesky rival, the old witch (31!), Bredine, who just hates the Bratz. She has her own rival pet who's just as mean. But you can keep your pet from turning sour by making all new treats. Just hop into the treat-making videogame and decipher the secret formula by guessing the four ingredients. After each guess you're told how many ingredients are correct. The faster you get all four right, the sweeter the treat.
A total of six Bratz games are coming out this fall, but as we learned, not all Bratz are equal. We saw Bratz Diamondz for the PS2 and GameCube, but there's also a unique DS game, a GBA version and a different version for the PC. You can buy one of each and Bratz yourself till you can't Bratz no more. We'll have more on Bratz Diamondz sometime in the future.
