Going into this, I wasn't sure what to expect. I've played shooters, even shooter RPGs, but I have never played the first Borderlands. And I gotta say, I was impressed! The variety of weapons was great, the dialogue was phenominal, even with characters I grew to hate, like the primary antagonist, and even some NPCs. It was well written, well voice acted, and graphically well executed. The gameplay suffered a bit, however, once you realize that in order to do some of the story, you have to grind side quests and monsters/bandits. I got about 20 lvls in before I realized this, and I was immediately bored with it. It's a good game if you are looking for a different shooter than is common in the market today, but be aware of the grinding that must happen. 7/10!

I can't get anything a 10 since that's impossible however Borderlands 2 comes close. I'm not usually much of a FPS fan but this game is straight up fun. I started as Salvador but found myself not really digging the "beserker" ability. I recently switched to commando and i'm LOVING it, the turret is great! It's one of those rare games where you can't wait to get into the middle of heavy combat and the weapons, soooo many weapons! Seems like every 15 min i'm finding my new favorite gun! The only real flaw I see is sometimes backing into a corner and getting stuck or having so many enemies right on top of me I can't see what's happening and I can't progress forward to get away. Other than that though I really can't find many problems, even when you're getting your butt handed to you it's still fun!
