This is a good, good puzzle game.

The collective gasp of gamers everywhere was audible when Steven Spielburg unveiled his first gaming project. It looked like a spruced up Jenga, only you were interacting with animal blocks with a Wiimote, instead of physically interacting with pieces of wood. Luckily for us, Boom Blox has much more depth than one would initially expect, and is one of the first Wii games that actually utalizes the Wii's controller in a way that makes sense.
I spent the majority of my time in the Adventure mode, which places the game's pull a block/throw a ball/whatever puzzles within the confines of stories that do a good job of setting up level objectives nicely. Boom Blox also implements a medal system, which really increases the "one more try" nature of the game when you start to encounter more difficult puzzles. Unfortunately I didn't try the multiplayer or level creation modes, so I can't really comment on them.
Boom Blox is a very simple game designed for a casual audience, but this doesn't detract from the enjoyment that can be gained from playing this title. The simple gameplay holds a surprising amount of depth, and it's fun enough to make even the most jaded gamer enjoy him/herself. Give this one a try.
