First: Kudos to the Microsoft Team for a great, compelling and easy to "pick up" and "play" title. This game packs a long story into 3 discs that follows a very familiar recipe. For folks like myself that played great games like Final Fantasy 7 this is a great pick up for us 360 owners. Secondly: it's not bringing anything stellar to the model for RPGs and the repetitive attack viuals are my only criticisms combined with the lack of hd/dvd support as an alternative add-on disc for us HD/DVD drive owners is saddening, On the Plus-side a newer-style combat system that gets more and more powerful throughout the game play is a nice new feature. I'm gonna pick this title up from game fly once the price comes down but till them I hope you have a few weeks to devote to this title.
First and foremost, this game is a rpg,but it brings nothing new to the table, but then again, nothing much does that nowadays.
Story is bland, slow starting And slow going is you like the person who made dragonball then you will be pleased to know the same person drew the characters, witch is bad and good, detail was never his nich.
Gameplay is the same, its relativly boring. atleast no random battles, there is a monster battle where you can fight more then one group of monsters at a time, but don't get to excited its pretty much just a way for you to fight more monsters faster, nothing fun about it.
graphics are bland but crisp, expected more from xbox's first true rpg,

Here's the thing with blue dragon, it's a really good game. The battle system is really good and not to complcated and there's no random battles (which really get to me)and you can customize your party which is also prety cool. The story is good but basic, not to complicated which for me was kind of a downer cause i love a really deep story. My only real complaint about the game is that the achievments are not easy to get. They either take way too much time or are just too hard for you to really want to bother with them. In 50 hours of gameplay i've only gotten about 130 points, other than that blue dragon is a solid RPG experience that will keep you entertained for many many hours.
