I am a spyro junkie through and through but this game was amazing. I usually freak myself out with horror games but this one sucked me in and never let go. It was challenging and interesting and left you craving more. The only thing I hated was that there was no game made after to continue the story and give me another fix of Kane.

Its been a little while since i've played this game so my recollection of this game might not be all the way up to speed. But I do recall that I truly enjoyed playing this game. Especially if you enjoy the Soul Reaver games of the serious, or you enjoy being a Vampire, then this game is a must play. If you have played Soul Reaver then this game will have a lot of extra titbit's in it for you that will help tie the two together. The graphics are really nice, but I will admit, they are starting to be a little dated compared to the newer titles today, but its definitely not a bad looking game. The moves that you can perform are very fun to execute. This game isn't too difficult and offers a decent amount of action without and real parts in the game that require you to repeat them over and over again just to progress any further. There is a good amount of puzzle solving in the game, many of which require you to use your vampire powers. And sucking blood from your victims to regain life is always fun!

Not what I expected

Im a huge fan of the now forgotten and destroyed Silicon Knights developers. Why? Because of this franchise right here. They turned over the reigns to Eidios after the first title but, I had to give props for them making the foundation for which this title is founded upon. What to expect, a very good story (save for how Kain goes backwords in his abilities, which you find out in the intro so no spoilers), not the best gameplay however, I love most of Kains spells and abilities including stealth kills, and lets face it drinking blood is always fun. I was really hoping for more out Kain but, there is just something special bout him that reminds me of Lestat, the brat prince vampire. I knew when I saw reviews that I was going into something that just didnt bring back his qualities that made him the best vampire character to play on PS. Continuing on, the graphics are just not there. I can see they were trying but, I just didnt feel it. When Raziel became the main character 2 titles prior it just seemed like Eidios just threw this together for fan support. As a story filler. I mean the story takes a huge leap from the first Blood Omen then to Soul Reaver. I guess what it really comes down to is Im a fan of Kain the character and really that is why I give it a 5. Your Kain, a villainous, devious, manipulator of fate, and proof that a coin doesnt have to always land head or tails, it can land on its edge. I hope this review was decent, sorry for rambling, and thanks for your time. Remember game on!
