This game is bad! Imagine great detail with great looking cities and scale and then Imagine horrible nightmarish control and what's worse is the same words being repeated over and over again. If you loved Crimson Sky's this game will make you sick.

Weak

Far too aggravating and repetetive to be much fun

I was really excited about this game at first, but after having to retry several of the levels ad nauseum just to beat them, I've quickly grown annoyed with it.

But first, let me mention the positives - The actual dogfighting in this game is fun, once you master the controls (more on that later). And graphically, the textures on the planes you fly look good, with some nice blur and motion effects. it also has a squadron control interface on the Dpad that lets you call up help for repairs or reinforcements. Most of the time it works okay, although your squad mates could do a better job of covering your butt when you've got 2 or 3 enemy planes on it.

But the rest of the graphics in this game look like an xbox port. Granted, the levels are pretty huge, and they're not going to be able to squeeze the same level of detail out of the surroundings that a game like Call of Duty 2 could, but I expected better.

Now for the annoyances. Lame and repetetive voice acting. Insanely difficult "obstacle course" levels that will have you screaming profanities and cocking your arm back to throw your $60 controller against a wall before you think better of it and stop yourself. Ridiculous 3 minute time limits on nearly every objective in some levels, whose sole purpose is obviously to milk the game's short missions out for as long as possible. Guess what fellas, making missions stretch out longer with ridiculous time limits that require multiple repeat attempts for every objective does not add play value to a game, and if I ever manage to beat it, I sure won't want to play it twice. The control scheme is also very counter-intuitive at first, and I didn't finally start getting the hang of it until about 3/4 of the way through the campaign. Prepare to crash a lot, as you lose track of which way is up while trying to turn around and engage an enemy. In fact, I'd say the only reason anyone should want to own this game is for the on-line dogfighting.

I'm really not a fan of this title. First of all, the killer for me is there is no first person view, it's all third person which is annoying for a flying game.

Second, there is no story line

finally, the game has a realism rating of -1. One plane taking on 20, ok sure!
