This game is similar to most rpgs in that you run into random encounter. Well the enemies are visible and therefore avoidable. But after 10 levels enemies start to run from you instead of towards you! Another aspect of this game which makes it interesting is that your weapons are constantly deteriorating. You can fashion new ones, upgrade nearly broken ones but you can't repair anything. That's very new to me. The story line wasn't extra captivating so I give this one a 5. You'll probably play it for 3 to 7 days then get tired of it.

Really Bad

Atlus is new to 3d, but we aren't.

I had high hopes for this game. I've enjoyed Atlus games for years and if they had stayed in their 2d universe this would have been better for it. Atlus is new to 3d, and as such they have to go through the growing pains of finding out what works. Going through that process is like taking a step back in time. This game would have been fine if it were released in the mid-90's but it doesn't cut it today. The UI is clunky, the walking around tedious, figuring out what to do next isn't obvious (nor intuitive). They have a lot to learn when it comes to delivering a real 3d-rpg experience they should hire some consultants or hire from the best to get a better grip for how to move in the future. The games semantics and story might have been fine, but the overarching issues that exist with their 3d transition had me returning the game after just a few short days of banging my head on the wall.

As always, your mileage may vary.
