Game Description

Take control of planes that are part flying machine and part time machine in this World War II flight sim. Birds of Steel has mined mountains of available research and historical accounts to re-create the settings for some of history's greatest battles. Choose from over 100 WWII-era planes and fly through 20 of the war's pivotal conflicts, including Guadalcanal, Midway, and Pearl Harbor. Each machine has been thoroughly re-created with an emphasis on total accuracy in look, performance, and weaponry. Landscapes have been just as faithfully built, using satellite imaging and historical maps, photos, and other data to re-create the world as it looked on each of those fateful days.

I realize there isn't much of a market for hardcore flight sims anymore, but if you are a fan like myself, there is none better out there. Anyone who has played the excellent PC sims IL-2 or Pacific Fighters will feel right at home, as this game is basically a console version of those two games com...more
